Forage & Grain
Judging will take place on Tuesday, April 23rd from 9am.
Entries must be made online via the Assist Expo website under Ontario Spring Discovery Show-Forage & Grain Competition.
*All entries are to be dropped off between 9 and 4 on Monday April 22 at the ag events center or the show ring building.
Forage Classes:
1. Corn silage – 1 peck in a plastic bag
2. Haylage – 1 peck in a plastic bag
3. Baleage – 1 peck in a plastic bag
4. 1st cut bale of hay – 12 inch bale tied
5. 2nd cut bale of grass hay – 12 inch bale tied
6. 2nd cut bale of legume hay – 12 inch bale tied
7. Champion Forage Youth Exhibitor – (21 years of age as of January 1st, 2024 and younger are eligible) Judge to select the top exhibit in the forage classes for a champion prize
8. Champion Forage Senior Exhibitor – (22 years of age and older as of January 1st, 2024) Judge to select the top exhibit in the forage classes for a champion prize.
Grain Classes:
9. Seed Art Display class
10. Sheaf of Grain any variety
11. Shelled corn – 2kg in Ziploc bags
12. Soybeans – 2kg in Ziploc bags
13. Wheat – 2kg in Ziploc bags
14. Oats – 2kg in Ziploc bags
15. Barley – 2kg in Ziploc bags
16. Champion Grain Youth Exhibitor – (21 years of age as of January 1st, 2024 and younger
are eligible) Judge to select the top exhibit in the forage classes for a champion prize
17. Champion Grain Senior Exhibitor – (22 years of age and older as of January 1st, 2024) Judge to select the top exhibit in the forage classes for a champion prize.
